RADIOBARRIER as a tool in the fight against drugs
POLUS-ST took part in joint exercises of the Russian - Kyrgyz law enforcement forces, held under the auspices of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and Counter Narcotics Service (CNS) of the Kyrgyz Republic Ministry of Interior, Customs and Border troops, within the framework of the programme aimed at countering drug trafficking, terrorism and organised crime in the Kyrgyz Republic.
The scope of the programme comprises the enhancing of the technical base and upgrading of personnel skills in the field.
During the exercise, POLUS-ST demonstrated operational capabilities of the RADIOBARRIER and RADIOBARRIER CSS systems jointly with UAVs.
The detection capabilities of the RS-U seismic sensor paired with the fast response of the UAV proved to be a great and highly effective tool in the hands of counter drugs operatives: when the RS-U sensor detects intrusion, the UAV takes off to the sensor’s GPS coordinates, allowing the operator to further monitor activities and take appropriate actions.
In summary, the participants expressed their high interest in adopting RADIOBARRIER systems for use by special units for criminal tracking, searching for missing persons, eliciting drug trafficking and other applications within the programme framework.
According to the results of the implemented training, POLUS-ST looks forward to a mutually beneficial dialogue with the UNODC and CNS representatives aiming at involvement in international programmes on eliciting drug trafficking, organised crime and prevention of terrorism.
